Laura Beg Biography

Immersed in her musical passion, Laura Beg’s journey unfolded in the ambience of hotels, restaurants, and pubs in Grand Baie at a tender age. Here, serendipity intertwined her path with Alain Ramanisum, and their collaborative spirit bloomed. Initially a chorister for Cassiya, she later joined Alain’s creation, the band Ravana.

With three albums and numerous artistic alliances, Laura stands among the cherished figures in the Mauritian music scene and resonates internationally. Her performances have graced Reunion Island, Australia, and Europe, including the prestigious Miss Reunion finale in 2011.

The debut album, “Tik Tiker,” released in 2011, marked a triumphant start, with its titular track still enchanting Mauritian dance floors. Laura’s artistic synergy with Alain, whom she married in 2010, is hailed as inseparable. Grateful for the profound learning, both as a collaborator and life partner, she acknowledges the invaluable lessons from Alain.

Beyond being a Mauritian artist, Laura Beg extends her musical prowess to English and Reunion Creole hits. Collaborating with Alain Ramanisum, the duo beautifully fuses the classic “Kia Hua” with the vibrant rhythms of Mauritian Sega, exemplifying their harmonious artistic journey.
