Anne Ga
Anne Gaëlle Bourquin, most commonly known as Anne Ga amongst the Mauritians. She started out on the stage of Timambo at the age of six. Her parents enrolled her in the conservatory where she learned classical piano and also joined the children’s choir.
Few years later, she started performing for the public on several occasions during singing contests or festivals. At the age of 19, Anne Ga participated in Talents by Mouv and was also among the finalists of the competition and soon caught the attention of Kabann Records, an event management and artist production company.
Anne Ga completed her diploma in Political Sciences however decided to follow her passion for music and make a career out of it. In 2017, Anne Ga started to work on her first album. Her days consisted of writing, co-composition of songs followed by stage and vocal coaching sessions.
Her first single, “Remember Me”, released in September 2019 received a positive response from the Mauritians. Anne Ga takes inspiration from Coldplay and Amy Winehouse for her smooth voice and from Adele for her purity. She collaborated with several artists such as Patrick Desvaux, Alain Alfred, Nicolas Rochecouste for her album which consists of 10 songs.
Anne Ga brings a refreshing pop twist to Mauritian music with signature tracks like “Nou Ale,” “Nou Ti Zil,” and “Losean.” Her songs blend traditional local sounds with modern influences, reimagining the island’s cherished themes and delivering a unique and contemporary perspective.
