About the Event : Wired for Sound - Rock Concert Uprising
Rock mode on!!!
On 16 May, the Serge Constantin Theatre will host a night dedicated to Mauritian rock — raw, electric, and unfiltered.
Three bands. One common thread: the raw electricity of rock. First up, SugarDrive, opening the night with a sound at the crossroads of pop and rock. Their music brings a refreshing touch and a different shade to the evening, while staying firmly rooted in the event’s high-energy spirit. The band sets the tone from the start and paves the way for what follows.
Following them are Bunker Rats, one of the bands that helped shape the foundations of the local rock scene. Since 2008, Mike Fekno and his musicians have stayed true to their course: an alternative rock sound deeply rooted in the Mauritian music landscape, shaped by years of live performances across the island and memorable appearances at events such as the Underground Rock Festival. A band that knows the stage — and one the stage knows well.
Finally, Morigan will take things up a notch. Formed in 2015, the band delivers an alternative rock sound that is both melodic and powerful. With two singles already released and an album currently in the works, they bring an intense stage presence where riffs and driving rhythms intertwine. Influences like Foo Fighters, Audioslave and Alter Bridge can be felt, yet they blend seamlessly into a sound that is distinctly their own.
If rock is in your DNA, if you love feeling bass thumping through your chest and guitars cutting through the air, this is a night not to be missed.
