Adored by both the public and the press, this troupe serves as a true breeding ground for the comedic talents of tomorrow, handpicked by Jamel Debbouze. Today, they return with a new collective show that follows the same successful formula: stand-up artists taking the stage, weaving in jokes, sketches, and impromptu humour.

Selected by the versatile comedian, actor, and producer Jamel Debbouze, La Troupe du Jamel Comedy Club is not just an entertaining show but also a fruitful collaboration among aspiring comedians. The individual charm and straightforwardness of each artist have charmed audiences, and the media unanimously recognizes this fact.

Just a quick reminder, the idea of the “open stage,” initially introduced on TV through a show produced and hosted by Jamel Debbouze, has played a vital role in discovering many talented comedians. Some of these talents have since become well-known figures in French comedy, like Fabrice Éboué, Thomas N’Gijol, Alban Ivanov, Fary, Nawell Madani, and Blanche Gardin.

About the Stand-up Comedians

Farid Chamekh

This is the tale of a man who seemed fated for a different path, never quite finding himself in the right circumstances. Perhaps it’s because he hails from a province so obscure it’s practically absent from the weather map.

He was never meant to wind up in Sao Paulo mastering the art of capoeira or securing a position in the civil service, let alone delivering comedic sketches within the confines of a psychiatric hospital.

When Jamel extended an invitation for him to open on his tour, and he unexpectedly stood before the likes of François Hollande, Jean-Paul Belmondo, and Monica Bellucci, he couldn’t help but reflect on his journey with a sense of amazement.

As he approaches the milestone of forty, perhaps it’s the opportune moment to leverage his neuroses and spotlight his keen observations of society and its imperfections.

Nash

Born in the Paris region, Nash is the youngest of three children in a family where humour served as the most effective means of communication. However, this doesn’t imply that she harboured aspirations of becoming a comedian.

While she enjoyed watching the likes of Gad Elmaleh and Florence Foresti on TV, it took a while for her to realize her comedic potential.

In early 2018, Nash, then working as a chartered accountant, found herself freshly dumped by her boyfriend. In dire need of a good laugh, she impulsively decided to enter the doors of Café Oscar. It turned out to be a revelation for her: “I don’t know what came over me; I asked if they had any performance slots available for me.”

Three months later, they contacted her to fill in for someone else. Despite having written very little material, she forged ahead, and to her surprise, it worked. That’s how she became enamoured with the art of performing.

Doully

At the age of 14, Doully left her parents’ home, embarking on a journey of independence by taking on a variety of odd jobs. From being a barmaid and a toilet attendant to trying her hand at roles like a gogo dancer and a clothes designer, she explored different paths before finding her true calling in stand-up comedy.

Doully’s foray into acting was facilitated by Yacine Belhousse. Over three years, she graced the stage, gaining attention for her distinctive gravelly voice and self-deprecating humour. In 2017, she clinched the Jury Prize at the Humour & Vin festival in Bourges, specifically in the young people’s competition. The following year, she earned the Violet d’Or trophy at the Dinard Comedy Festival.

Her recognition soared as she presented columns on Europe 1 alongside Willy Rovelli. In her show, “L’addiction c’est moi,” she fearlessly addresses taboos, delving into her private life and personal struggles with addictions, including issues with drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes.

In 2021, Doully took the lead in “Admettons!,” a production co-written by Blanche Gardin and showcased at Théâtre le Point-Virgule.

In 2022, she portrayed Jacky, a punk CE1 teacher, in the series “Comme des gosses,” aired on M6. During the same year, she played roles in “En Même Temps” and “La Page Blanche.”

Rey Mendes

Rey Mendes skillfully employs his charm and affability to elicit laughter from his audience. Addressing themes such as education, prejudice, and married life, he employs a deadpan sense of humor that not only entertains but also engages the audience, skillfully involving them to support his points, or occasionally leaving them in humorous ambiguity.

Ayoub

Ayoub Marceau, a former elite high jumper, demonstrates that the leap from sports to stand-up comedy can lead to unexpected places. With a distinctive and humorous style, he narrates the tale of his life, blending uniqueness and humour in his storytelling.

PV

PV is the convergence point of stand-up, character performances, and improvisation. While the show may not feature raclette, sausage, or Shocko-Bon, PV doesn’t mind visiting your table after the performance.
