Special concert 100% Engager!

On Saturday 11 March 2023, local artists will dedicate a tribute concert to Bam Cuttayen and Siven Chinien at the Executive Club, Coromandel. 100% Engager - an invitation to immortalise the memory of two legendary singers who distinguished themselves with their militant songs; a privileged moment not to be missed as from 20:00.

Bam Cuttayen, known for his anti-oppression songs, is a voice that continues to ring out as loudly as ever. He was a renowned artist, poet and passionate advocate for human rights. Bam Cuttayen put his heart into his lyrics as well as his music. His music is often characterised by a harmonious mix of African rhythms and oriental melodies.

Like Bam Cuttayen, Siven Chinien is another artist who has left an indelible mark on the hearts of many Mauritians of different generations. Author, composer and interpreter of emblematic songs that recounted the suffering of the Mauritian people in the 1950s, such as "Soldat Lalite Militant" or "Lané 43", still thrill many today.

As such, our local artists wanted to perpetuate the memory of Bam Cuttayen and Siven Chinien with this tribute concert. The event will also be marked by the presence of other leading artists such as Sega Nu Zanset, Grup Latanier and DJs such as Ejilen Faya, DJ Makiah and DJ Angel.

A Mauritian sega tune will invade the Executive Club, Coromandel on Saturday 11 March 2023! So get your white outfit ready to evoke peace by the light of the moon for this breathtaking concert.
