Patyatann: Lanwit · Lizour is coming to the West Coast!
After getting the crowd pumped up at the IFM for the launch of their new album, Patyatann is hitting the road again to share Lanwit · Lizour, and this time, the action is on the West Coast!
Join us at La Rivière in Tamarin, in the unique setting of the La Rivière restaurant on the barachois, for an immersive and poetic evening. With this new production, Patyatann explores the mystical side of our Mauritian culture, sings its tales and legends, and invites you to discover its stories. Come share a magical moment with friends or family, surrounded by the enchanting natural scenery.
To kick off the evening on a gentle note, the wonderful Yvette Dantier will be performing the opening act. Join us starting at 7 p.m. to begin this musical journey with us.
The album book will be available for purchase at the venue. There will be a signing session and a chance to chat with the band after the concert. Food and drinks will be available at La Rivière restaurant.
Patyatann is a musical project founded in 2012, now comprising six versatile musicians: Sarasvati Mallac, Anthony Bouic, Shekina Mootanah, Cledy François, Stephan Paul, and Kan Chan Kin.
Through their original compositions, the band celebrates the cultural richness and diversity of Mauritius.
“Patyatann” is a compound word in Mauritian Creole that literally means “We didn’t expect that.” It’s an expression that captures both her unique and captivating music and the journey she’s taken, performing in Mauritius, at the Indian Ocean Music Market (IOMMA) in Réunion, in England, France, India, and Nepal!
Deeply rooted in the heritage of his island and committed to preserving its cultural legacy, Patyatann’s music blends sounds influenced by Indian, Chinese, European, and African traditions, which are an integral part of Mauritius’s intercultural identity.
