Philharmonia Orchestra: Festival in Mauritius
About the Event : Philharmonia Orchestra: Festival in Mauritius
In 2024, Philharmonia will become the first major international symphony orchestra to tour Mauritius, developing a new multi-year residency project – Philharmonia Festival: Mauritius.
The festival will enable the discovery of new sounds and music, tearing down the barriers to accessing live symphonic music, where previously there has been little access available in Mauritius.
Therefore, on the 21st of January 2024, a 20-player chamber orchestra will perform at the MGI in Moka, along with acclaimed British cellist Steven Isserlis.
Joining the Philharmonia are Arvind C. Bhujun (sitar) and Neriyen Veerlapin (tabla), plus the Choir of the Conservatoire National de Musique François-Mitterrand and Island Voices Choir, Mauritius.
Secure your tickets now for an unforgettable evening where classical music intertwines with history. Beyond savouring an exceptional musical journey, seize the opportunity to meet and converse with the artists post-concert. Don't miss this unique experience!
