About the Event: The Two

Their unique partnership between a Swiss and a Mauritian has surprised many, but their remarkable journey has earned them well-deserved recognition.
With over 800 concerts from 2015 to 2022, including performances at prestigious festivals like Montreux Jazz and the Montreal Jazz Festival, as well as opening for renowned artists such as Johnny Hallyday, Ben Harper, Mavis Staples, and Charlie Winston, The Two have made a lasting impression.
Inspired by the blues, The Two sought to explore their Creole roots, resulting in their album Sadela, meaning "these two" in Creole. Through the guidance of David Donatien, the recording and arrangements of Sadela delve into the rich Creole heritage of the Indian Ocean, incorporating elements of island blues from the Mascarene Islands, as well as sega and maloya.
