Venue Type: TheatreThe French Institute of Mauritius is attached to the network of the French Institute, operator of the external cultural action of France placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which works to promote cultural and linguistic diversity through a program of exchange and cooperation in the fields of culture, debate of ideas, knowledge and science. Since its opening, the IFM has asserted itself as a place of emergence for new artistic writings, the programming being mainly focused on welcoming young talents from the current French scene but also leading personalities who have marked and marked again the international art scene.
It belongs to the network of 96 French Institutes and 455 French Alliances around the world. The IFM has 4 departments;
- Culture: Innovative, varied program reflecting the traditions of excellence and the modernity of French and Mauritian Creation.

It also hosts the offices of the Cooperation and Cultural Action Service (SCAC) of the French Embassy, in charge of actions relating to Franco-Mauritian academic, educational, linguistic and institutional cooperation in the fields of law, the judiciary, the civil service, and governance. The IFM organises numerous events in all artistic disciplines. The IFM has an amphitheater where various events are located in a modern and open setting suitable for hosting concerts, conferences, screenings and seminars. There is the gallery room which accommodates debates, exhibitions and shows.
