A Spiritual Concert to mark the start of Holy Week!
On the occasion of Easter, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Father Laurent Rivet & Zezi Utd brings you a divine concert of worship and meditation at the J&J Auditorium. Famed for his style of inviting people to prayer through music, he will thrill you avek zot Bondie, on 01st April 2023. This concert will also introduce his new album "Bienere"
In 2007, Father Laurent Rivet was ordained after his studies at St. Jean's Seminary in France. Fast forward to 2022, he celebrated his 15 years of priesthood. And now, Father Laurent Rivet combines his ecclesiastical duties with his passion for music; a graceful blend that he employs to invite the youth to prayer.
With his musician crew from Zezi Utd, Father Laurent Rivet aims to promote the melody of " real happiness " through his spiritual concert during Easter season. The young priest is rekindling his musical passion on the stage at J&J Auditorium, all the while maintaining his commitment to the spiritual dimension.
Known for being close to young people, Father Laurent Rivet keeps a touch of reggae, ragga and rock, as if to charm all kinds of souls all while sharing values, positive messages, faith, bravery and strength through music. About the artist :
Père Laurent Rivet
Father Laurent Rivet is not just another priest, he is also a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and founder of the group Père Laurent Rivet & Zezi Utd. He says that the 1999 riots sparked a change of heart that led him to discover his vocation. He eventually dropped his scholarship to Curtin University in Australia and joined the seminary in Nantes, France.
The young priest has been recording music since 2003. His albums include “Enn zom”, “enn Bondie” (2003), “Leve” (2009), “Rasinn dan lesiel” (2011), “Enn zom enn Bondie” (re-recorded, 2013), “Lor to laroute” (2018), “Pran kont” (2020) and, the latest one, “Bienere” (2022).
Father Laurent Rivet completed biblical studies in Rome and Jerusalem from 2014 to 2017. He is currently in charge of the Pastoral Care of Vocations for the diocese of Port-Louis, as well as the CAPAV audiovisual service.
