About the Event: Lightning Reggae Festival
Are you a reggae lover? Head to The Green Village for an incredible festival, featuring the best international and local artists from the world of reggae. Not to be missed, the Lightning Reggae Festival will be held on 06 May 2023.
Reggae Lovers will be thrilled by this festival which promises to be memorable! The spectacular event will start at 18:00 and end in the early hours of the morning. The atmosphere will be filled with reggae vibes and of course you will be able to sing along to your favourite songs.
Talented local artists such as Sayaa, Ras Natty Baby, Lion Vibe, Antonio Perrine among others, have been carefully selected to keep you rocking throughout the event. And that's not all! International artists; Mo'Kalamity, Mortimer and the world-famous Reggae Band, Big Mountain, will also be there.
What would a festival be without good food? Lightning Reggae Festival has thought of everything as there will be food outlets with veg, non-veg and vegan options.

Free entry for children under 12 - minors must be accompanied by an adult.

About the artists:
Mo’Kalamity
Mo’Kalamity’s first song, “Africa”, means a lot to her. She grew up in the Paris region when she arrived in France as a child. She started out as a backing singer before setting up her band The Wizards in 2004. Mo’Kalamity also has an album – Warriors of Lights.
Mortimer
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, he dreamed of becoming a soldier or a car engineer when he was younger. However, these aspirations soon faded into the background in favour of music. Mortimer is an rising Jamaican artist; a promising singer with a compelling voice, equally at home creating traditional reggae and more contemporary Jamaican music.
Big Mountain
With a lineup of charismatic group members, Big Mountain is a world-renowned American pop Reggae band. Led by the lead singer and rhythm guitarist Quino, the group Big Mountain also features a powerful musical force by the accompanying artists, who create music for people of all cultures and ages.
Big Mountain became the number one most played Reggae band worldwide, only second to Bob Marley. Some of their charting singles are , “Baby I Love Your Way”, “Sweet Sensual Love”, “Touch My Light”, “Reggae Inna Summertime”, “Caribbean Blue” and “Get Together”, among others.
Sayaa
Sayaa has always been passionate about singing, and she has made a career out of it – she followed her heart and now she can proudly say that she has succeeded! She has been lucky enough to perform at international events and is in great demand in Mauritius. Her biggest hits include “Sant pou la mizer”, co-written with Jaymie, and “Ask dem”.
Ras Natty Baby
Ras Natty Baby is a professional composer, singer and songwriter. He started at a very young age as a solo artist. He initially learned to play the guitar. Ras Natty Baby worked very hard to achieve what he wanted. Today, he has a 35-year career and 9 acclaimed albums to his credit.
