His notable participation in Australia’s X Factor garnered him the accolade of “Best Drummer-Singer” from the discerning panel of judges. As an integral part of the Otentik Groove Band, Jason Heerah has significantly elevated the musical landscape of Mauritius. His introduction propelled their collaborative synergy to unprecedented levels, resulting in a harmonious blend that gave birth to soul-stirring melodies. This musical ensemble has etched an enduring imprint on the cultural rhythm of the island.

Ophélie Sauteur

Ophélie Sauteur, a Franco-Cameroonian artist, made Mauritius her home eight years ago. She brings the stage to life as a soulful singer and guitarist, infusing the island with her own unique musical essence. In this idyllic corner of paradise, Ophélie’s commanding vocals seamlessly intertwine with the beats crafted by Italian-Australian DJ Ribongia, creating a sonic symphony. Beyond her solo performances, Ophélie is an integral part of the women’s collective, Les Amazones. On the stage, she has shared spotlight with international luminaries like bassist Linley Marthe, Laura Beg, Jason Heerah, Damien Eliza, Mario Armel, Caroline Jodun, and many more. Her musical journey is a captivating fusion of cultures and collaborative artistry, echoing the vibrant energy that defines Mauritius.

Ribongia

Antonio Rosselli Del Turco, more widely recognized as Ribongia, is a gifted Italian-Australian producer who has chosen Mauritius as his residence, illuminating the local cultural landscape with his artistic brilliance. Ribongia distinguishes himself with his mastery in the realm of electronica, captivating audiences with his musical creativity that adeptly blends various soundscapes, including seggae and maloya. Ribongia’s artistic influence stands as an integral component of the Mauritian cultural tapestry.

Les Kocottes is an exceptional and vibrant venue, fostering encounters and diversity, situated at the core of Moka Smart City, nestled between Saint-Pierre and the Vivéa Business Park.

These refurbished former hen houses spread across 3.6 hectares, have been meticulously renovated and repurposed by Moka Smart City to champion educational, civic, artistic, and circular economy initiatives.

The Kocottes have been thoughtfully crafted to promote social connections, interaction, and learning, offering optimal working conditions and fostering opportunities for collaboration with all stakeholders within the city.
