About the Event : Mozika Gasy Bapampa Be
18+ Event
Clarel Armelle and Le Poisson d’Or Snack are preparing a truly special musical experience: a live concert-show featuring Malagasy legend Rossy on July 4 at Party Field, Pamplemousses.
For the very first time in Mauritius, Malagasy artist Paul Bert Rahasimanana, better known as Rossy, will bring the vibrant spirit of Bapampa to the stage — a powerful musical movement inspired by Madagascar’s traditional brass bands.
Bapampa is both a musical and dance style rooted in Malagasy marching band traditions, brought to life through energetic orchestras blending trumpets, trombones, saxophones, accordion, and percussion.
Deeply tied to major celebrations, village festivals, family gatherings, and popular dance events, this repertoire was created for both the streets and the stage, driven by collective energy and a festive atmosphere.
Through Rossy and his band, Bapampa takes on a dynamic live stage form while staying true to its popular and celebratory roots. The result is both an immersive concert experience and a vibrant musical spectacle.
Alongside Rossy and his group, several Mauritian artists will also join the stage. Clarel Armelle will highlight the sound of the ravanne through sega tipik, Blakkayo will bring the spirit of seggae, and Tii Alexandre will represent the new generation. Together, they create a unique meeting point between musical styles and generations.
Mozika Gasy Bapampa Be is designed for both the Malagasy community living in Mauritius and the wider Mauritian public, with the shared desire to celebrate a musical culture deeply rooted in tradition while remaining vibrant, festive, and contemporary.
