If Naarada’s story is part of what you grew up hearing, this is your chance to see it brought to life through theatre, music and a Mauritian touch on 28 August 2026 at J&J Auditorium.

NARAYANA NARAYANA (stylised ‘Nãrãyaņa नारायण’) is a two-act musical theatre production, bringing popular character of Hindu mythology, Naarada’s journey to the stage. Expect live musical scoring and popular songs, narration in Hindi and Kreol Morisien, and stylised visuals on screen.

The production follows Naarada, the divine messenger and musician, as he sets out to prove that he is Lord Naaraayana’s greatest devotee.

During his ordeals and his passage through Maya (the illusion of the world), he encounters various deities, learns invaluable lessons about devotion and human relations, while he rediscovers what it is to be a musician of the Lord.

Bringing it all to life are OMJA, NIKHIL AND THE GANG, surprise musicians, and well-known local actors Geereesh Sharma, Sanjay Bokhoree and Ritesh Mohabir. The songs are woven into the story, the music is performed live, and the visuals help carry each scene forward.

For families who grew up with these stories, this is a chance to experience them together in a new format. For younger audiences, it is an entry point that feels more immediate than hearing the story retold at home. And for anyone who enjoys live music and theatre, the production gives you both in one evening.
