Water Sports lovers, music fanatics, and anyone wishing to have a good time, this festival is for you! Whether you want to have fun with exciting water & land activities or simply want to chill and enjoy live concerts during an all-day music festival, Hotel RIU Creole is the place to be on 4 December 2021!
The Ocean Active Festival is BACK!
After two successful editions we are changing it up a bit with a new venue: RIU, Hotel and Resort. Together with HOT Day Out, Fast and RSVP Group, the winning team is back with a spectacular concept of this lifestyle festival that focuses on a multitude of water sports, trail run and VTT during a music festival throughout the day, not only providing unique competing opportunities to many Mauritian and passionate water sport athletes, but also allowing them to enjoy a full day in the west coast with their families, playing several sports and watching live concerts - bringing people of all ages together to celebrate our incredible Indian Ocean.
The Ocean Active Festival strives to be an eco-friendly sustainable event with the hope of proving this to all the attendees through the satellite events and displays leading up to the event.
RIU is an unbeatable location to enjoy water sports such as windsurfing, kayaking, snorkeling or paddle surfing, amongst other activities. Located right beside Le Morne beach, in the southwest of Mauritius, it’s the perfect venue to host an amazing lifestyle event such as the Ocean Active Festival.
The Ocean Active Festival is for everyone who LOVES the ocean & music!
VACCINATION NOTE : As the event is taking place on hotel (RIU) premises, all visitors & participants (adults) need to be fully vaccinated. A proof will be requested at the entrance**
The Festival and Entertainment:
The race village will take the form of a music festival with themed bars, chill areas with shade and seating and of course a music stage.
Entertainment will be provided throughout the event. Supporters and athletes can enjoy the music stage which will start by featuring up and coming live band acts throughout the day. After races and prize giving are complete, all guests will have a chance to enjoy and finish their days with some of the best Mauritian Band Acts, ending-off the great day out with some equally spectacular dance moves.

- 8:30am - 20km MTB Race
- 9am - Kite Surf Twin Tip downwind slalom
- 10am - 6km Kids MTB Race
- 11am - 5km Kids Trail
- 11am - Wind Surf Downwind slalom
- Time TBC - 12km Surf Ski
- 12:30pm - Prize Giving
- 1pm - Kite Surf Freestyle expression session in afternoon
- 2pm - Wind Surf Prize Giving
- 5:30pm - Kite Surf Freestyle Prize Giving
From 10am to 11pm, DJs and Live Music

Sanitary Measures
- ** To be able to enter in the hotel, all visitors will have to show their proof of vaccination cards.
- ** Wearing a mask over your nose and mouth is required
- ** Maintain social distancing
- ** Use hand sanitizers
– As per the quarantine act, the Law in Mauritius states that all visitors entering hotel premises must be vaccinated.
– As the event is taking place in a hotel (RIU), all the participants and spectators (adults) must be vaccinated due to the Mauritian regulations.
Additional Info
- No food or drinks from outside allowed. Food and beverages will be on sale in the race village.
- Parking will be available at RIU hotel and Le Morne public beach for the attendees of Ocean Active Festival.
