About the Event : OFF-MOMIX - Eliasse / Sarah Honoré

Please note that entry is free for children under 12 years old.

In a groundbreaking artistic collaboration, MOMIX and the Institut français de Maurice (IFM) bring forth an extraordinary musical performance.

On Saturday, September 16 at 8 p.m., dive into a mesmerizing sonic journey featuring Eliasse from the Comoros and Sarah Honoré, Menwar’s daughter.

The IFM amphitheater in Rose-Hill will come alive to the enchanting rhythms of Zangoma. But what exactly is this phenomenon?

Zangoma represents Eliasse's musical masterpiece, a bold fusion of genres that includes rock, blues, folk, and even a hint of jazz, all harmonizing with the rhythmic beats of his archipelago and African rhythms.

The drum (ngoma) serves as the very foundation of Zangoma, and Eliasse's commanding rhythm proudly carries this unified and hybrid banner!

From twarab to mgodro, from maloya to afrobeat, rock zangoma is a musical amalgamation that promises to transport you to uncharted horizons.

This concept, pioneered by Baco, a renowned Comorian musician, epitomizes the harmonious fusion of Western music with Comorian and Indo-oceanic melodies. It offers a truly unique auditory experience.

Eliasse will be joined on stage by two French musicians, featuring a bassist and a drummer. The exceptional Mauritian artist, Sarah Honoré, will take the stage for the first part of the concert.
