One Man Show de D’jal

For as long as he can remember, D’jal has been happy and blessed with a vivid imagination, coupled with a real sense of sharing. Armed with his wit, humour and contagious passion, he managed to mobilise a team of film students and raise funds to make a short film (for which he wrote the script in a week) at the prestigious Louis Lumière film school.

D’jal then realises his ability to tell stories in a funny and quirky way, gets into the game of writing jokes anywhere and anytime, and the idea of going on stage gradually emerges in his mind. He then convinces the mayor of his town to lend him the keys to the municipal theatre. Writing, staging, rehearsing, punctuated his daily life for months. Then it was the first performance in front of friends and family, a success, the beginning of word-of-mouth, and the performances continued…

At the same time, D’jal was performing on open stages, imposing his style and his already cult character of the “Portuguese”, before exploding at the “Jamel Comedy Club”. He then went on to perform all over the world: he toured the Maghreb, Africa (Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Lebanon, Senegal, Mali, Niger, Ivory Coast…), as well as London before returning to France. With the particularity of writing and presenting each time a unique show, tailor-made for the audience of the country that receives it. This desire to conquer an audience with a different culture, combined with the pleasure of writing, and his desire to share his joie de vivre, his overwhelming energy and his mischievous sense of humour, make D’jal a comedian in a class of his own…

His first show “JUST D’JAL” was sold out and gathered more than 400,000 spectators in 4 years. He came back in 2017 with a new show A COEUR OUVERT.
