Blakkayo

Blakkayo, aka Jean Clario Gateaux, is passionate about reggae and is inspired by the seggae of Kaya. Using music to share his convictions, he has written his own lyrics, exploring freestyle. His aim is to preserve Mauritian culture and music by creating and promoting reggae, seggae and dancehall. Since its debut in 2000 with the album “Tchek to Life”, Blakkayo has aimed to reveal the reality of the island to the world. Success followed, notably with the album “Nou Kkila” in collaboration with the OSB crew, paying tribute to Kaya.

Oeson

Oeson, from the village of l’Escalier in the south of Mauritius, is a ‘Natty Dread’ reggae artist with a strong connection to his roots. Inspired by icons such as Alpha Blondy and Tiken Jah Fakoly, he has forged a unique style. At the age of 17, he released “Donn Faya”, followed in 2016 by “Freedom Talk”, which propelled him to the forefront of the music scene. In 2020, “Ghetto Messiah” proved his rise to fame. His distinctive, powerful voice, backed by profound lyrics, put him among the most sought-after artists, conveying powerful messages through hits such as “Petite Reine” and “Tire Sa Dossier La”.

Jason Heerah & Otentik Groove

Jason Heerah & Otentik Groove are the perfect combination for a Mauritian band. Groove, who has been active for more than 10 years, has enjoyed international success with modern music that blends Mauritian Sega and Seggae. They have collaborated with many renowned artists, and their alliance with Jason Heerah in 2015 was successful, winning several awards including the ‘Disc de l’année’ on various radio stations in 2016.

Located in Tamarin, Big Willy’s is an outstanding venue that opened its doors in 2009 and has quickly become a favourite on the west coast. Big Willy’s is a real gem, combining a restaurant, sports bar and nightclub in one place. What makes Big Willy’s so special is its unique atmosphere and rustic yet modern decor.
