House of Digital Art (HoDA) used to be one of those venues in Port Louis that stood out without trying too hard. Set inside an 18th-century heritage building, it had a raw, slightly unconventional feel that made it different from more typical event spaces.
The stone walls, high curved ceilings, and old-style windows and doors gave the place a strong sense of character, with clear influences from the French colonial period. At the same time, the courtyard offered a quieter corner where people could step away from the city for a bit.
Even though it covered more than 600 square meters, HoDA never felt overwhelming. It blended naturally into the city while still feeling like its own space – part gallery, part event venue, part creative hub.
Over time, it became a go-to spot for all kinds of events. From cocktail evenings and product launches to fashion shows, dinners, seminars, and team-building sessions, the space adapted easily depending on what was needed.
With parking available nearby and a dedicated team handling events, House of Digital Art was, for a while, one of those places people turned to when they wanted something a little different from the usual venues.
