Venue Type: Unique OutdoorThe leisure park is spread over 1000 acres, crossed by several rivers, including a lake. A huge garden dotted with sugarcane fields, fruit plantations and green spaces with various flora, including hibiscus, araucarias or bougainvillaea. Dating back to the eighteenth century, this former sugar estate created by Pierre St Aubin also houses old buildings from yesteryear- making it a charming heritage site.
When you walk through the flowered alleys of Gros Cailloux, you enter a magnificent park of plants, set in a palette of varied colours and subtle scents, giving the place a certain charm. A true delight for the senses, the Gros Cailloux estate is also the ideal place for those who wish to perfect their garden with a variety of 450,000 plants spread over an area of 20 hectares, some of which are endemic.
At Parc Loisirs, Gros Cailloux, a walking circuit has been developed for the little ones. The tour of the leisure park begins at the top of the footbridges and will bring you to meet some animals such as turtles, rabbits, iguanas and several species of local and foreign birds. You will find also the far where you will be allowed to feed calves, sheep and many more animals.
Once at the park, children can have fun with the activities, they will learn how to fish tilapia, and pet farm animals, and can fly through the air on an exciting zipline that soars above the forested areas. Adults will find happiness with activities such as kayaks, quads for hiking in the forest and pedalos.
The park, along with its onsite restaurant Tekoma, is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After an exhilarating day of fun, head on over to on-site restaurants to enjoy a very pleasant lunch. This restaurant offers menus on a budget.
