Wesley Duval

A founding member of the Komiko troupe, established in 1995, Wesley Duval is one of the pioneers who laid the groundwork for Mauritian comedy as we know it today. While Miselaine Duval-Vurden is affectionately regarded as the troupe’s “mother,” Wesley is undoubtedly its “godfather.”
From the very beginning, he threw himself wholeheartedly into Komiko, driven by an unwavering passion. Through the troupe’s highs and lows, he remained steadfast — always present, always supportive. To Wesley, Komiko is more than a troupe; it’s a second family.
Over nearly 30 years, he has taken to the stage in more than 250 productions, bringing to life a wide array of colourful characters — humorous, touching, and delightfully eccentric. He has also made his mark on the big screen, appearing in several local films, including Panik, a comedy-drama warmly received by audiences.
But if one role truly defined his career — and left a lasting impression on an entire generation of viewers — it’s that of Vivian, the absurd yet endearing drunk in Fami Pa Kontan. Another unforgettable character closely associated with him is Uncle Raphaël in the sitcom Kel Fami.
With a voice that’s instantly recognisable, expressive body language, and an impeccable sense of comic timing, Wesley Duval is more than just a performer — he is a cornerstone of Mauritian theatre and comedy. A true living legend.
