Linzy Bacbotte




Linzy was born on the 28th March 1978 and went on the stage for the first time in 1987, at only 9 years old. She comes from a small family in Quatre Bornes. She participated in Star 2000 in 1988, 1989 and finally in 1991 she won the competition with the song “Promise Me”. The beginning of a wonderful story, the story of a little girl becoming a big woman.
She gave birth to her first child, Solena, from her first union. After that she went through a lot of struggles, on a personal and professional basis, but she did not give up. In that process, she met Bruno Raya. After their union, they had their son Zion. Linzy thanks her mother for the love and dedication she had towards her kids, because Linzy developed the same towards her kids.
Linzy does not only sing sega but she also sings reggae, soul. She is a real “Feminist”, who helps other women gaining their rights where they really deserve. Linzy opened a school, Sing Again, to help the underprivileged children. In 2017, she celebrated her 30 Years of Career in the music industry. She is indeed a role model for her kids and Mauritius.
