Fabien Cornelius
Winner of the Imazik contest organised by Imafilm, Fabien Cornelius got the opportunity to feature on Imazik’s YouTube channel for three videos of covers. With the contest and the videos, Fabien started slowly to gain recognition and soon he could be seen during One Man ShowZ and Acoustik Corners. Soon he got the attention of Baptist Jung, a talent scout for The Voice. After a few auditions, in November 2014 the production for The Voice starts and Fabien heads to France for the audition.
It was Jennifer whose chair turned when Fabien auditioned for The Voice with a song by the Jackson Five. With the help of Jennifer, Fabien learned a lot about vocals and how to train his voice in the proper way. However he got eliminated from the competition during the Battle round. Back to the motherland, there were soon talks of an album.
Despite delays in the release of the album, Fabien did not disappear from the Mauritian stages. He was often featured during Sundowners, concerts or shows. And in the following years, Fabien worked a lot on his music trying to combine Mauritian culture, African heritage with hints of European influences and in 2020, Fabien released his single titled REV’IVRE.
