Donovan Bts
Donovan Bottesoie, better known by his stage name Donovan Bts, hails from Montagne du Sable in Rodrigues. He discovered his passion for music at school, where he first took the stage during the Fête de la Musique. He later appeared on several televised talent shows before joining the LyonSquad collective as a teenager, alongside Tii Alexandre, Yohan, Bomboclak and Tazou.
The experience helped Donovan hone his style and establish himself on the local music scene. He developed a distinctive sound that blends Mauritian-style reggaeton, Afrobeats and dancehall, combining urban rhythms, catchy melodies and the “caliente” vibes that have become his trademark.
His hits have become a strong presence in Mauritius’ music scene, with numbers that speak for themselves: “Bizin Lamour” has surpassed 11 million views, “Ress Pou Moi” has exceeded 7 million, while “Muah” has crossed 6 million views on YouTube.
In 2023, Donovan Bts reached a new milestone with the release of his debut solo album and his first major live concert. That same year, he was nominated for Best Indian Ocean Artist at the Trace Awards & Festival in Kigali, Rwanda, and took the stage alongside major African artists such as Davido and Rema.
