Jah Mike

Jah Mike is a multifaceted artist, a true master of musical creation. As a singer, songwriter, performer, and musician, he is also deeply passionate about crafts, particularly carpentry and the making of ravans—traditional instruments that are central to Mauritian music.

Jah Mike has been a carpenter since the age of 16, and he has channelled this expertise into crafting ravans, merging his love for music with his woodworking skills.

His musical journey began in 2000 with the group Mighty Jah, where he gained recognition with hits like ‘Essayé Sanz Twa’ and ‘Hypocrisie’. His solo career reached a significant milestone in 2010 with the song ‘Kabané’, which earned him the title of Record of the Year and cemented his status as one of the top artists in the Mauritian music scene.
