Jerry and the Resistance
Jerry and the Resistance, a band created by Jerry Rouget. Jerry Rouget was born on 15th July 1980. He spent his early childhood in Curepipe and then lived in Montagne Blanche. Since the age of 16 Jerry loved music and his only goal was to have his own band. In 1990, founded his first and own band, Revelation Zenfan Malerbe.
His first band was successful but many members of the band started to split up. With the help of his friend, Sylvio Racoude, he started something new. He started to sing in hotels which helped him in launching his own group, Jerry and the Resistance in 2008.
Jerry also mentions that during his shows in hotels, he could witness clients who wanted him to sing some hindi songs but he could not as he was not knowledgeable about it. Then Jerry decided to expand his knowledge about music and decided to do a cover of “Kabhi na kabhi” accompanied by Ajitha Murday.
His one and only motive is to bring the seggae music back to life with the help of his band. Music is an art that cannot be lost at any cost, adding love to music makes it one of the best elements in a life and Jerry N the Resistance intends to keep this culture of love and music together.
