Madii Madii & Jason Leboucher

Madii Madii & Jason Leboucher are two young men from Barkly who managed to overcome the drug scourge in that vicinity. Each of them started out on their own which was quite easy. They decided to then join hands together to create their first new album. The name of the new album is “Vérité”. Both of them, having gone through so much, decided to help each other to achieve their goal.

Madii Madii’s real name is Madyson Jean and Jason Leboucher’s real name is Jason Janvier, respectively aged 24 and 28 years old. Both of them are from Barkly, Beau Bassin-Rose Hill. Both friends have been influenced by the drug scourge since their young age and they had to get out of it as this was affecting their personal and family life. They had to find a way out of this to live and survive. And they chose music.

Madii Madii had a rage of not being able to overcome a real big loss in his life, his sister who lost her life because of domestic violence. Jason Leboucher who was an addict. Both of them had to support each other to see the light. They had to believe in themselves to be able to achieve and compose their songs. Singing has made Madii Madii feel less alone and feel less guilty about what happened to his sister. He used to feel guilty for what happened to his sister and that he has not been able to help his sister. He even wrote a song in her memory, “Laba”.

The album “Vérité” has ten songs, mainly about life, love and death, all of them forming part of life. Madii Madii has four solo songs, Laba, Rouler Rouler, Lavi and Premie Fwa and Jason Leboucher has three solos, Ress Lwin Ar Mwa, Lamour Enn Maladi and Ar twa. As a duo they have three songs together, Si ou les, Mo Kontan Twa and Lanpriz.
