Menwar

Menwar is Stéphano Honoré born on the 21st October 1955 and residing at Cassis, Mauritius. He is a well known singer in Mauritius and a World Class percussionist. He is among the singers who practiced Sagaï in the 1980s. He is known for playing ravanne as well as drum, guitar and triangle.

Menwar did not continue school but he was very much interested in practicing many sports. He did simple jobs such as tailor, mason and even mechanic. He is known as a very simple man who has a heart of gold and is always ready to help many. He performed around the island as well as outside the island, Reunion island and Marseille.

He was awarded the Artist of the Year by French radio station Radio France International. This was a real honour for many Mauritian artists as Menwar was representing Mauritius for the music, seggae and culture. Menwar thinks that whatever wrong is happening in our Mauritian community is due to our fault. He composed many songs describing those issues.

Menwar is still known for his originality and positive vibes he sends during his performance through his voice, his lyrics and instruments.
