Oeson, a self-described “Natty Dread”, proudly hails from the southern region of Mauritius, specifically from the village of l’Escalier. Since childhood, he developed a deep fascination for traditional instruments and the sega tambour. For Oeson, embarking on a musical journey was an organic and innate calling. He drew inspiration from renowned artists such as Alpha Blondy, Tiken Jah Fakoly, and Kaya, shaping his distinctive style.

In 2009 at only 17 years old, Oeson released his debut album, “Donn Faya,” primarily focusing on the dancehall style. Regrettably, this album went almost unnoticed. But, with great determination and passion, Oeson poured his heart and soul into his second album, “Freedom Talk,” which gained resounding success upon its release in 2016, establishing him as an artist to watch.

In 2020, Oeson solidified his position as a rising star in the reggae scene with the release of his third album, “Ghetto Messiah.” This album showcased a fusion of reggae and a touch of seggae, allowing Oeson to find his true voice and forge his musical identity.

Amidst his modest beginnings, Oeson’s remarkable journey unfolded with resolute determination and an unwavering belief in “the almighty,” propelling him towards greatness. He continues to captivate audiences both in his home country of Mauritius and internationally, garnering a dedicated fan base, particularly on Reunion Island.
